Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Karnataka on Sunday, where he will inaugurate the Yellow Line of the Bengaluru Metro and flag off three Vande Bharat Express trains, his office said in a statement.

The Yellow Line, spanning 19.15 km with 16 stations, will connect RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra and is expected to ease traffic congestion on busy routes like Hosur Road and Silk Board Junction.

The Yellow Line Metro project, worth around Rs 7,160 crore, will increase the operational metro network in Bengaluru to over 96 km, serving a large population in the region, the government release said.

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Bangalore Metro Phase-3 project, worth over Rs 15,610 crore, which will cover a total length of 44.65 km with 31 elevated stations.

The Prime Minister will also flag off three Vande Bharat Express trains from Bengaluru, including Tumakuru, Davanagere, Haveri, Hubballi, and Dharwad, which will run six days a week. This will enhance connectivity between the two important pilgrimage sites.

The inauguration of the Yellow Line Metro and the launch of the Vande Bharat trains are expected to significantly improve Bengaluru’s transportation infrastructure, reducing travel time and providing a world-class travel experience to passengers.

The Metro Phase-3 project will address the growing transportation needs of the city, catering to residential, industrial, commercial, and educational areas.
